Benjamin Bakall, MD, PhD, is a 2003-graduate of The Uppsala University Faculty of Medicine in Uppsala, Sweden. He then acquired a PhD in Genetics and Pathology at Uppsala University (2005) followed by postdoctoral research in the United States at the University of Arizona, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science (2007). His postgraduate training in the United States includes his general surgery internship (2008) and ophthalmology residency (2011) served at the University of Arizona. Dr. Bakall conducted a fellowship in medical retina at the University of Iowa (2013). He attained board certification in ophthalmology with the American Board of Ophthalmology. Furthermore, he is a member of member of the Arizona Ophthalmological Society and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
